Write a Letter to Your Friend Describing the Present Situation of Dhaka City

Dear Rima,

I hope this letter finds you well. I got your letter yesterday, and I'm glad to share what's happening in Dhaka city. Dhaka is the biggest city in Bangladesh, and it used to be the capital of all of Bengal when Emperor Jahangir was in charge a long time ago. It's situated by a river called Buriganga.

I remember you visited Dhaka around ten years back. If you were to visit now, you'd notice a lot of changes. They've built many new roads and pathways, and there are lots of tall buildings that have gone up. However, the small lakes and ponds that were once in the city center have mostly disappeared. Instead, there are structures and installations in their place. Sadly, the city's natural beauty has suffered because of this.

The streets are really busy with thousands of buses, minibuses, trucks, and different types of vehicles. Unfortunately, all these vehicles create a lot of pollution in the air, and the constant honking adds to the noise. There are also many big factories and industries here, but they're not so great for the environment. They release harmful chemicals and waste into the water and air, which is causing pollution.

The water is also getting dirty because of improper waste disposal and drainage systems. The river Buriganga, which used to have fish, doesn't have many fish left now. It's quite sad. Because of all these problems, the people living in Dhaka are getting sick more often with serious diseases.

All of this is because the population of the city has grown really fast. Well, that's the update for now.

Take care and write back soon.
