The hare and tortoise story-completing story in short

Once upon a time, in a jungle, there lived a rabbit and a tortoise. The rabbit was very proud of how quickly he could run, while the tortoise was rather slow. The rabbit used to make fun of the tortoise and would challenge him to a race.

One day, after being insulted by the rabbit, the tortoise had had enough and decided to accept the challenge. They asked a fox to be the race judge, and a date was set for the race.

When the race day came, the rabbit and the tortoise lined up to start. As soon as the fox waved a flag, they were off. The rabbit sprinted ahead, covering a lot of ground within minutes. Confident in his speed, he looked back and saw the tortoise far behind. Thinking he had plenty of time to spare, the rabbit decided to rest under a tree and soon dozed off.

Meanwhile, the tortoise knew he was slow, but he was determined. He kept moving steadily, not giving up. Eventually, he saw the rabbit sleeping and quietly continued on his way.

By the time the rabbit woke up in the afternoon, he rushed ahead at full speed. But it was too late. The tortoise had already crossed the finish line.

Feeling embarrassed, the rabbit realized the truth: "Slow and steady wins the race. Pride doesn't lead to success."

Moral of the story: It's important to keep trying your best, even if you're not the fastest, and being humble is better than being overly proud.
