Bangabandhu Satellite-1

A satellite is like a tool that goes around the Earth or other parts of space to collect information and help with communication. This special satellite is named after a very important person, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, who is called the Father of the Nation. It was designed by a company called Thales Alenia Space and sent into space by Space-X. The satellite started its journey on May 11, 2016. It was launched from a place called the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, USA, and its control centers are in Betbunia and Gazipur in Bangladesh. The satellite stays in one spot in the sky, around 119.1 degrees to the east. It weighs about 3600 kilograms and has big solar panels to power it. It can work for about 15 years. This satellite helps with TV shows and also lets other countries nearby, like Bangladesh, share information. It's a big change for Bangladesh because now the country doesn't have to pay money to use satellites from China, India, and Singapore. This satellite will also help Bangladesh with things like telemedicine, e-learning, video meetings, and being ready for disasters. But using this satellite also brings some challenges and things to think about.
