Hey Dad,

Great news! They just announced the results for our annual exams. I came in first place in the class rankings. I'm happy about it, but not completely because I'm only ten marks ahead of the second-best student. I was a bit sick during the exams, so I could have done even better.

Don't worry though, I'm optimistic about improving in the future. Keep your fingers crossed for me. Send my love to Mom.
